David Chaniott might not seem like a political agitator. He’s a 41-year-old data analyst. He has a master’s degree in theology. He once published an article about the importance of in-person church attendance.

Like so many Americans, however, Chaniott has been spurred to action by the current political climate. Earlier this year, he co-founded an organization that risks legal trouble in order to give food to people in need.
