Getting coin from souvenir Cokes isn't easy

Danielle Sierra had never eaten at The Four Way, Memphis’ legendary soul food restaurant, before the city’s UrbanArt Commission announced it was looking for an artist to paint a tribute mural on its north-facing exterior wall.

So the California native paid an exploratory visit to the 75-year-old institution, where she learned about the Black activists who decades ago gathered there for restorative meals of baked chicken, fried catfish, and neckbones, accompanied by cornbread dressing, pickled beets, and turnip greens.
