Opened in 1965 with a name to make teeth itch in 2025, Wife Saver started as a modest eatery in the front yard of founder George Cunningham’s Augusta, Georgia home. It now is a five-store chain in and around the city.
Wife Saver earned celebrity between 1998 and 2013, when it supplied pimento cheese to Augusta National for the famous sandwiches sold each year at the Masters Tournament. To everyday customers, it remains a dependable source of in-store eats, take-out meals from the drive-through window, and catering on a small or large scale.
