Last week, we officially rolled out TFS:CLT inside Stylus, which, if you haven’t been yet, is the sexy cocktail lounge and listening room extension of Soul Gastrolounge’s new home at The Pass. Think low lighting, rich wood tones, plush seating, and the kind of cocktails that make you snap a photo for the ‘gram, then text your best friend: Get here. Now.

We promised sips and nibbles. Stylus delivered.

Cheers!

You came to meet the team. We fired on all burners.

The TFS:CLT team

Writers, PR pros, media addicts, and the pathologically food-obsessed showed up for a launch party that felt more like a reunion of people who’ve been waiting for this city to get promoted from a buttoned-up banking city to an exciting food destination.

And let’s talk timing.

Many riveting discussions about food were had

This all comes on the heels of Charlotte’s Top Chef premiere—one of the biggest moments for our local food scene. For years, we’ve been whispering, “Just wait.” Now, the rest of the country is watching. And we’re here to cover it like it matters.

Because it does.

What I loved most about the evening wasn’t just the drinks (don’t miss the green applegrass kisser) or the nibbles (the crudités slapped). It was the conversations. The excitement. The “we need this” energy.

Locked in

TFS:CLT isn’t here to rehash press releases or post Instagrammable plates without the stories behind them. We’re here for smart coverage. Big questions. Cultural context. The chefs shaping the city. The money shaping restaurants. The power dynamics shaping who gets recognized.

Charlotte deserves food journalism that assumes readers are intelligent, curious, and hungry for more than hype. And we’re just getting started.

If you came to Stylus on March 4, thank you for showing up and supporting us! If you missed it, don’t worry. We’ve got plenty more cool, compelling stories coming your way.

Cheers and happy eating,

Taylor
