Vague name, sharp cooking

Three Aguiriano sisters—Noemi, Aida, and Zoila—came from Miami to Aiken and opened a restaurant called Latin Food. When they announced it, a Facebook troll posted, “Another Mexican restaurant?” The restaurant’s reply was, “It’s Latin food. Not Mexican. Big Difference.” 

It is entirely possible to come to Latin Food and eat such Mexican-American restaurant standards as nachos, tacos, and burritos. They’re very good. But the better reason for visiting is to explore a menu that includes food from other parts of Central America as well as from Cuba. Hence the nonspecific name.
