The merry month of maibock

Let there be spring. And, with spring, let there be maibock.

The style has been a feature of this post-hiemal time of the year for many decades, and many Southern breweries have embraced it. That includes the Olde Mecklenburg Brewery and Blackbird Brewery in North Carolina (the latter’s maibock is called Johann Sebastian Bock—get it?); the Virginia Beer Company and Devils Backbone Brewing in the Old Dominion; and the Nashville Brewing Company.
