By the time I finished interviewing Scott Witherow, my speech pattern had changed.
I normally speak at a pace that reflects my 18 years in New York City, because living in Manhattan made me feel like I was in a hurry all the time. Scott Witherow, however, talks like he’s settling in. As I sat with him in his office at Olive & Sinclair, the East Nashville chocolate company he founded in 2006, he paused before answering every question, and sometimes he paused in the middle of an answer. He did the same when an employee popped in with a question about that day’s wholesale orders. It suggested he never said anything by accident.
