Inquisitive appetites can spend a meal going back and forth from a table in Taqueria El Charrito’s Aiken dining room to the help-yourself salsa bar, where a dozen garnishes and condiments call for attention. Peaceable tastebuds might choose salsa tomatillo, salsa tropical, or salsa ranchera. Their flavors are different and distinct but non-aggressive—right for cheerful chip-dipping. Tropical sauce provides a sultry edge to whatever it embellishes. Pumpkin seed sauce stands out for the twist of heat in its nutty personality.
