Last Friday, we sent you a save-the-date for our seventh annual Spirited Brunch, a self-guided snack tour of downtown Charleston houses of worship.

Next Friday, we’ll share information about an upcoming subscribers’ event in Nashville.

With so much on The Food Section’s calendar, it’s good we have this Friday newsletter set aside for announcements. But I’d reckon plenty of readers are growing weary of hearing about TFS happenings far from home. Over the last 10 months or so, we’ve hosted events in five different states, yet I wouldn’t be surprised if we haven’t put on a program within 100 miles of your front door.

Fortunately, we’re not limited to in-person events. Thanks to the generous sponsorship of Weigl Communications, TFS is reviving the short-term Zoom series it staged last summer. Beginning March 25, on the last Tuesday of each month, we’ll offer an online session hosted by one of The Food Section’s 10 talented correspondents.

After all, these journalists are experts in their subject areas—and they can’t possibly convey everything they know about wine or Atlanta or Southern spirits in a mere one column per month. These freewheeling chats will give you a chance to get answers to your burning questions about, say, the beer lobby or Asheville bagels.

Each writer has chosen a topic to kick off the conversation, but we’re hoping attendees will participate actively in these sessions. While Team TFS is tremendously diverse, every one of its members is sharp, enthusiastic, and always up for a good back-and-forth: I’m excited for you to get to know them better.

Because these meetups are informal, there’s no registration required. Plus, they’re totally free—so long as you’re a paying subscriber.

The schedule for the first few sessions follows; one day before each event, paid subscribers will receive a reminder with a Zoom link. We look forward to seeing you in the virtual room!
