One of my history professors used to say that the difference between college and graduate school was that college teaches you to answer questions, while grad school teaches you to question answers.

Finding out more is at the heart of lifelong learning, which is what I hope this newsletter course will inspire you to pursue. It’s impossible to sum up Southern food in four short email dispatches, but I believe I can help you achieve fluency in the topic—and provide the resources you need to explore it further (ideally as a paying subscriber of The Food Section, but we can talk about that later.)
