But talking is entry-level stuff. Do you remember the scene at the start of The Apostle in which June Carter Cash’s character placates a neighbor disturbed by her preacher son making a racket? “Ever since he was an itty-bitty boy, sometimes he talks to the Lord and sometimes he yells at the Lord,” she says. “Tonight, he just happens to be yelling.”
