New cigar bar gives Aiken cosmopolitan cred

Aiken likes to think of itself as a small town, but Rhumba Rum and Cigar Bar is uptown. Opened last month by Jessica and Elier Alberto, it has a contemporary menu with a Cuban accent, upholstered seating without formal dining tables, a savvy waitstaff, and a virtuoso bartender.

If the cliché “you eat with your eyes first” is true, Rhumba has got to be good. Beyond the smart attitude of the place itself, food is handsomely plated, and drinks are beautiful.
