On a highway north of Morehead City, North Carolina this summer, I was passed by a white pickup truck with a decal reading “Smoked Mullet.”

Right away, I knew it was best that the phrase wasn’t preceded by the bumper sticker cliché “I brake for.” That poor guy would never stop.
