Made with chocolate and pistachio syrup, the Dubai latte is always sweet. But it’s sweetest for independent coffee shop owners across the American South, who say the trendy iced drink has boosted their sales this spring.

“I’ve not had anybody who hasn’t loved it,” says Kaylea Holt, owner of Lincoln’s Brews, a mobile coffee trailer based in Florence, South Carolina. Holt estimates about half of the eventgoers who visited her truck at the massive Myrtle Beach Food Festival in April asked for the mocha-based drink crowned with pistachio foam.
