Rahn Broady has many monikers around New Orleans. The Mutual Aid Guy is one. Plant Daddy is another. My favorite is “Ice Cream Bae”—a reference to both his beloved frozen custards, sold through the esteemed New 7th Ward Ice Cream Speakeasy, and objective handsomeness, which is a kind of Idris-Alba-meets-soil-punk vibe—though the local crew who dubbed him such begged to remain anonymous.
