Hail to whomever contrived what Meeting on Main’s menu labels “MOM’s fried chicken.” It is intensely savory, judiciously spiced, at once brittle and luscious. Knotty strips of thickly breaded skin pull away like immense cracklins that deliver crunch and chew and torrents of fried-chicken flavor.

Breasts pack massive lodes of surprisingly juicy white meat. Thighs epitomize succulence. All parts are good, but truth be told, I have returned to Meeting on Main’s buffet more than a few times just to get pieces from which I plan to eat the crust, meat within serving as little more than a means of conveyance.
