It’s a great pumpkin beer myth

Texas’ Saint Arnold brews one they call the Pumpkinator. At Big Boss Brewery in Raleigh, there’s Harvest Time. Florida’s Cigar City contributes its Good Gourd to the season. Pumpkin beer—usually pumpkin ale, to be specific—is all over the South this time of year. 

Its origins lay in Virginia. Or at least that’s how the folklore goes.
