A few weeks ago, I heard about a local entrepreneur selling cronuts. This might not be newsworthy in bigger cities, but in West Virginia, cronuts remain a novelty. I understood the assignment.

The only problem? The cronuts were sold by the half dozen, and while I love a good pastry, having five extra cronuts lying around is a dangerous move for this single lady. Thankfully, a special occasion was around the corner: when friends from North Carolina visited for a weekend of outdoor adventures, I ordered a box of the goodies to share.
