Getting the most out of summer

Freelance advice for making these last August weeks

I’m not an advice columnist, by any stretch. If your summer fling is flagging too soon, or if you fear all the peaches that you picked will rot before you learn how to can them, I don’t have any useful hints.

But as I reviewed some of my recent work for outlets other than The Food Section, it occurred to me that if your quandary involves making the most of what’s left of this season, I might be able to help. With the caveat that I don’t know what kind of weather or societal crises we’ll see before the end of August, I’d suggest the following:
