On the day I ate the best burrito I’ve had in Nashville, I wasn’t even looking for lunch.
My friend Sarah Parada was taking me on a tour of Talpa, the sprawling Mexican grocery store on Nolensville Pike. She’s a California native, and when her family moved to Nashville almost 15 years ago, she missed the Mexican food she’d enjoyed growing up. Since she still wanted tortillas and paletas and guacamole that reminded her of home, she pretty much had to become an adept home cook.
