It’s the middle of a hot summer, and Charlotte’s culinary scene is heating up right along with it. I went to preview of Ardente, the new Rome-inspired restaurant and market by Mano Bella owners Raffaele and Madison Patrizi (ciao, burrata pizza). But first, I grabbed the chance to let longtime Charlotte chef Marc Jacksina talk about his favorite five bites in Charlotte, from shiny new places to a memory of a great dish at a restaurant that’s gone on to even more greatness. —K.P.
Marc Jacksina is a chef’s chef, one of those cooks other chefs point to when you ask who’s got the skills.
