Bring on the mayo and marshmallows

Purple Hull Market began in 2017 as a produce stand, then it started serving sit-down meals. As the restaurant grew, the produce inventory shrank and finally became little more than farmland décor. 

It still feels like a roadside market. Mismatched walls are made of corrugated metal siding and barn board. Bright chrome bands rim miscellaneous Formica-topped tables. Vintage advertisements and rural signs set a nostalgic mood. Many customers still come to buy the non-corporate cakes, pies, pickles, and preserves of the sort that neighbors make and bring to a bake sale.
